 Bunion Splints

  • Bunion Aid Hinged Splint for Bunions:  The innovative hinged splint.  I use it at night to help realign my big toe that has a bunion.  I don’t know if it is proven effective, but I’m doing anything I can to try to prevent the bunion from getting worse.
  • Profoot Goodnight Bunion:  I just started testing this one out.  The first night was uncomfortable.  It is much cheaper than the AlphaOrthotics splint, but it is cheaply made, you cannot walk with it on and the hard plastic is uncomfortable.  I’m going to work with it a little more since I just bought it.

Bunion Pads

  • Toe Spreading Gel Bunion Shield:  I use this product all day long to keep my big toe straight.  It is comfortable, fits into shoes, and it’s washable.  I use this product the most.

My Podiatrist Approved Sneakers After Tailor’s Bunion Surgery

All shoes listed below have a wide toe box and offer the best support.  Sneakers purchased should be a cross-trainer or running shoe, not a walker type.

As a side note, I love the FitFlop Women’s Mukluk because it is fashionable and extremely comfortable.  My podiatrist did not recommend I wear them all the time because it is a rocker type shoe (meaning a toning shoe), so instead of allowing the toes to bend as they would in a sneaker, it keeps the toes straight because it is “rocking.”  I compromise by alternating with sneakers.

On My Wish List To Try

  •  Foot Alignment SocksThese socks found on Amazon claim to help relieve bunions and other foot ailments.  Their purpose is to realign each individual toe. They stretch and separate the toes and have overall received good reviews.
  • SmartToes Toe Stretcher & Straightener. These claim to ease discomfort of various foot problems, including bunions.  They have great reviews and seem like a good way to stretch the toes without having to sit there with your hands threading through the toes.  Easy to do under a desk or while relaxing.
  • Beech Yoga Sandals Originals 2 – New Design.  I thought these were an interesting concept.  They look like a flip flop, but have spacers between each toe.  They are technically to help trains toes for yoga practice, but they look like they would be helpful for foot problems.  The majority of reviewers liked the product and helped with foot problems.
