Hi, my name is Anna Frye. I am not a doctor, nor do I have a background in the medical field. I am currently living with a tailor’s bunion and a bunion combo on my left foot. Recently, I have undergone surgery on my right foot to remove a tailor’s bunion that had become enlarged and painful.

I felt the need to put together a website based upon my own difficulty in finding definitive answers on the web about the extent of bunion surgery, recovery and what the process truly entailed. I have spent countless hours researching bunion and tailor’s bunions websites in order to piece together what I needed to know before I went in for surgery.

Throughout my research on the web, I only found very generic answers on how long I’d be out of work, when I could drive again, when I could exercise, when I could walk, when I could shower, and so on.

Until you actually have the surgery, no one provides you with concrete answers. It may sound silly, but something as simple as trying to find a comfortable, fashionable shoe after having surgery becomes a major undertaking.

There are a number of bunion / tailor’s bunion surgery videos on YouTube. But none of those videos really offers the insight that is needed to make a decision one way or the other. The videos simply provide a visual on what the doctor will be doing while in surgery. While this is pertinent to the decision making process, it still leaves a lot of questions unanswered.

I understand every person is different and will respond to surgery in their own way. My goal is to share a more substantial timeline leading up to surgery, the recovery process, preventative ideas, and information on what is to come after surgery.

Good luck on your journey!
